From The New York Times:
"On the anniversary of the massacre of her family in Rwanda, Juliette, a young woman who has found refuge in London, lights candles to their memories and recalls the qualities that made each of them unique: one candle for her gentle father, another for her cynical mother, on through many siblings, down to her adored 3-year-old sister.
As played by the gifted Susan Heyward, the scene is unbearably sad and eloquent, yet also modestly presented and genuine that it never strains to reach the audience's tear ducts. Juliette's distinct voice is the essence of I Have Before Me a Remarkable Document Given to Me by a Young Lady From Rwanda, and Ms. Heyward gives a vibrant performance."

A poignant and heartfelt journey shared by Juliette (Susan Heyward), a young survivor of the Rwanda massacre, and the burned-out English poet (Joe Menino) who befriends her. Profoundly moving, surprisingly humorous, ultimately uplifting, this is the must-see play of the season.
Following highly successful runs in the UK, Los Angeles, and Boston this will mark the play’s New York premiere. The Times of London says “Beg, buy, or steal a ticket to this show!” The Boston Globe refers to it as “a testament to the strength of the human spirit, the healing power of the written word, and the value of individual acts of kindness." - TICKETS

In conjunction with the performance, there will be an exhibit of The Rwanda Project’s Through the Eyes of the Children at the Saint Peter's gallery space.
This award winning photography exhibit of photographs by young survivors of Rwanda began as a workshop in 2000, conceived by photographer David Jiranek and inspired by the founder of Rwanda’s Imbabazi Orphanage, Rosamond Carr, an American woman living in Rwanda since 1955.

Each performance will be followed by talk backs with cast members and directors. On selected performances guest speakers and representatives of humanitarian organizations will join the talk backs.

A portion of all proceeds will benefit The Rwanda Project and the children of the Imbazzi Orphanage as well as initiatives of the Peace Fellowship at Saint Peter’s Church.
